Contact

Many people contact us each week for help, guidance or information. We have one means of contact: our email address.

[email protected]

We don’t have a phone line, a postal address or an organizational messaging service. Here are some of the reasons you might be getting in touch.

To join our forum as a pedophile

To join as a regular member, you need to be 18 or older and be sexually/romantically attracted to children. You must also be committed to never seeking sexual activity with a child.

If you’re not sure if you’re really a pedophile, first check out our questioning section.

Please try to make all these things clear when writing. For more information about the forum, see our forum page .

To join our forum as a friend or family member of a pedophile

See our friends and family forum page .

For help with a research project

Due to high interest, we are only taking on requests from postgraduate researchers who can verify an institutional connection and ethics review. Write to us from your university email account for more details. If you’re an undergraduate or a solo researcher, please see our researcher page . Alternatively, you could ask questions of our panel .

For help with a podcast/YouTube content/website/campaign/novel

We help with these on a case-by-case basis, but our volunteers’ time is limited. We offer help based on what projects we feel will be fair, unsensationalistic and are pitched at the right audience. A good way of getting answers is to ask our panel .

To join our forum as an ally or observer.

VirPed’s forum is first and foremost a support space where pedophiles set the discussion agenda and talk about their issues with an understanding audience. It’s very unusual for us to let people join who either aren’t pedophiles themselves or closely connected to a pedophile. Sometimes we admit professionals in the field.

To get a quote for a published article

We take these on a case-by-case basis. We don’t respond to news cycle pieces, and we don’t respond to journalists whose interest is limited to trying to exploit the controversy around this topic for clicks. We are interested in helping with longer and more thoughtful articles, especially in mainstream outlets.

To seek subjects for a documentary

The number of virtuous pedophiles who will appear on camera is vanishingly small, and we say no to nearly every approach we get on this. It’s just too dangerous. Some of us will use our voices, and more of us will talk on condition of strict anonymising protocols. If you are a professional with a track record we can check, write to us for more details.

To correspond directly with an offender in jail via a supervised contact system

We’re really sorry, but we don’t have the resources to offer this. In addition, many such systems require us to pay to send messages, which we can’t do.

To talk with us from a policymaking perspective

We’re willing to do this with established mental health charities and others involved in helping governments and institutions understand our situation. Reach out and tell us who you are and why you’re asking.
