Our History

The original vision for Virtuous Pedophiles came from our founder Nick Devin, who was in the peer support group of B4U-ACT (b4uact.org), a group with perspectives and beliefs identical to those of VirPed in many respects.

But at the time (2011), its discussion forum favored the view that adult-child sexual activity was fundamentally OK, if only societal attitudes would change. Even officially, B4U-ACT makes a point of not saying that adult-child sexual activity is wrong aside from the need to obey laws. Nick felt the need for a separate group grounded in the fundamental belief that sexual activity between adults and children is wrong.

Our first website went up in late June of 2012 and was soon followed by our forum in 2013, which has attracted over eight thousand signups, has had hundreds of actively posting members and has supported dozens of research studies on non-abusing pedophiles.

Despite receiving many death threats, we have communicated anonymously with the media. We continue to talk with anyone who has questions, especially those with a professional interest in our population.

Our website was significantly updated in July of 2017 and again in January 2024.

We want society to recognize that we are not monsters waiting to pounce on unsuspecting children. We are people who have a sexual attraction that we did not choose and cannot change, but are capable of controlling.
